The railway infrastructure in the Republic of Slovenia is an important part of the European integral railway network, through which two core – multimodal corridors, and four corridors of competitive freight transport run.
The European freight corridors (RFC), which were established on the basis of Regulation (EU) 913/2010 in order to increase the competitiveness and quality of the international railway sector, represent one of the pillars of the freight market of the European Union.
