CEF II 2024 – Upgrade of Maximo and GES Systems and Interface with the TCR Tool (RNE)
Digital upgrade of railway infrastructure possession management and automation of data transfer to the European TCR tool.
Project acronym: CEF II 2024 – Maximo & GES – TCR Interface
Programme: Connecting Europe Facility (CEF II) – Transport
Project beneficiary: SŽ – Infrastruktura, d.o.o. in cooperation with SŽ, d.o.o.
Project duration: 1.2.2025 – 21.12.2029
At SŽ – Infrastruktura, together with project partners, we successfully applied to the CEF II – Transport Call 2024 and launched a project aimed at the digital upgrade of key information systems used for railway infrastructure possession management and the improvement of data exchange at European level.
The project focuses on upgrading the existing Maximo and GES (General Record System) information systems and on establishing an automated integration interface with the TCR (Temporary Capacity Restrictions) tool managed by RailNetEurope (RNE). The project addresses one of the key challenges of modern railway infrastructure management, namely the need for efficient, timely and coordinated planning of track possessions in both national and international contexts.
Currently, data on track possessions and capacity restrictions is transferred to the TCR tool manually, which increases administrative workload and the risk of errors. The main objective of the project is to automate this process and to enhance the Maximo system so that, in addition to short-term planning, it will also support medium- and long-term possession planning in line with European regulations and procedures.
The project supports the digitalisation of the railway sector, improves interoperability with European railway systems, and contributes to greater efficiency, transparency and reliability in infrastructure management. This will improve conditions for international freight and passenger transport and strengthen coordination with other infrastructure managers at European level.
Special emphasis is placed on the development of digital solutions, data standardisation and process automation, which will have long-term positive effects on possession management, reduction of administrative procedures and improved decision-making based on accurate and up-to-date data.
The project is implemented in cooperation with national and European partners and contributes to achieving EU objectives related to digitalisation, interoperability and the sustainable development of railway transport.
